Blogs as current phenomenon & benefits to the community.

What is blogosphere? It is the millions of interconnected blogs available in the internet. (Mcguigan, 2010)

The size of blogosphere is getting bigger and bigger each year. According to Technorati, there are over 70 millions of blogs existing and each month, roughly 3 millions of blog will be created. Hence, the current size of the blogosphere can be said is about 100 millions.

The blogosphere trend in Malaysia has been changed from individual bloggers making name of themselves to bloggers highlight a company's products or services. In today's society, creating a blog is more than just as a hobby, it has also becomes a new way of earning side income from blog advertising community such as Nuffnang and Advertlets. (The New Emerging Trend in Social Media, 2008)

There are many types of blogs. For example the prevalent blogs in Malaysia are political blog, food blog, health blog, online business blog and hobby blogs. What are the benefits of all these blogs to Malaysian?

Political blogs are honest, direct, informative and conversational. Public are more likely to support them instead of the local newspaper. (Australian Political Blogging and the Benefits, 2007)
Food blogs are for the public to find out the best food and restaurans in town.
Health blogs allowing public to get to know more on health tips
